Kushiel’s Mercy

Thank you Amazon for the picture

“There are people in my country who have never travelled beyond the boundaries of Terre d’Ange. Indeed, there are many who have never left the province in which they were born; contented crofters tilling the land, tending orchards or raising sheep, never venturing further than the nearest market.

Betimes, I envy them.

Already, as a young man, I have gone further than I could have imagined as a boy daydreaming in the Sanctuary of Elua where I was raised. It did not begin by choice - as all the world knows, I was abucted by Carthaginian slave-traders, sold into slavery in Menekhet, and from thence taken to the land of Drujan, ruled by a madman who consorted with a dark and ancient god.”

Oh look, another book in the Kushiel series, this one is called Kushiel’s Mercy and it is making its grand appearance on June 12, 2008. Do you think I should leave a note on my door saying I have gone to pick up this new book?

From Jacqueline Carey, New York Times bestselling author of Kushiel’s Scion and Kushiel’s Justice, comes the final adventure in the Imriel Trilogy.

Having paid dearly for ignoring Elua’s edict to love as thou wilt, Imriel and Sidonie have finally come forward to publicly confess their love for each other—only to watch the news ignite turmoil throughout the land. Those who are old enough cannot forget the misdeeds of Imriel’s mother, Melisande, whose self-serving lies plunged their country into war.

In order to quell the uprising, Queen Ysandre hands down a decree: she will not divide the lovers, but neither will she acknowledge them. And if they decide to marry, Sidonie will be disinherited.
That is, unless Imriel can find his mother and brings her back to Terre D’Ange to be executed for treason.

This looks like it could be one heck of a book. Remember folks this the last adventure in this series and once you have finished reading this book, go back and reread the first two in this series.

Happy Reading
