The Golden Trailer Awards
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post on Megan’s Minute about funny movie trailer parodies. Well, movie trailers have hit the big time because they even have their own awards called the Golden Trailer Awards.
The awards are determined by a panel of “film notables” and trailers from a variety of movie genres are judged.
This year’s winners included “The Dark Knight” for Best Action trailer, “No Country For Old Men” for Best Drama trailer and “Enchanted” for Best Animation/Family trailer.
Personally, I hink they needed one more category: Best Spoiler Trailer. That’s for the trailer that makes seeing the movie unnecessary because it tells the whole story, ending and all, during the trailer itself. Don’t you just hate it when you go to an action movie say, and you keep waiting for the explosion you saw in the trailer? You know the character they’re threatening to kill in the movie won’t die at least before that scene, because they’re in that scene.
It’s maddening.
