“Lost” Snap Recap: “Confirmed Dead” (2/7/08)
We got some answers on “Lost” last week. We found out that someone—Dharma?—went to great lengths to pretend that no one survived the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Right down to planting a wrecked plane on the ocean floor complete with bodies. We found out there was supposed to be a different pilot on the plane instead of Greg Grunberg who was killed by “the monster” in the pilot. We found out that Creepy Matthew from last week hired Naomi to lead four people, each chosen for some specific purposes, to the island to get Ben. Either to kill him or bring him back.
The four characters are Miles, a kind of ghost physic, Charlotte, an archaeologist, Frank, the original pilot of Oceanic 815 and Daniel, a physicist that Kate and Jack came face to face with in the jungle at the end of last week’s episode. All of them except the helicopter pilot Frank, parachuted onto the island when the helicopter was struck by lightening.
Daniel, Jack and Kate find Miles who insists on being taken to Naomi’s dead body so he can find out whether or not Kate told the truth about Locke killing Naomi. Charlotte ends up with Locke and his Losties while they’re on their way to the Others’ barracks. Frank actually lands the helicopter and he’s eventually discovered by Jack, Kate and the Beach Party Losties.
When Ben sees Charlotte he shoots her the first chance he gets and with the barrel of Locke’s gun at his head says Naomi and the Fearless Foursome came to the island to get him. The reason he knows this? He has a man on their freighter who warned him of everything that was about to happen.
