British Designer, Gisele Gannes, has found an unusual niche in jewelry. She specializes in Divorce Jewelry. I like her collection , as you may already know- I’m a brass knuckle afficiando- you can see more on her site here
but what’s with the beaky birds? Is that a special significance, or is that to gauge out the ex’s eye?Either way, it works for me…
She also does mourning jewelry… by the way, is it wrong to knit scarfs from a deceased cats’ hair?My cats are still alive but, I’m saving hair from my cats to knit a teddy bear- I have about one grocery bag full of each cat… I need one more bag and then a Mr. Marmar teddy bear will be commissioned….. yes, I’m the neighborhood crazy cat lady and I’m only 31.

I discovered Shana Logic about 5 years ago when they were just a small company on the Pixie Girl Presents website. Over the past few years, they have grown to include hundreds of unique, cute, handmade things ranging from arm warmers, ipod gear, to jewelry. Priced very reasonably, I have ordered from then several times and was more than satisfied with the products. They make great little gift items and are also adoptable to you. Monsters need love , too.

Whenever, I visit NYC , I make sure I stop by Girl Props in Soho. With its zebra pattern facade, It’s hard to miss on West Broadway and Prince Street. Here are a few of my favorite picks. I think I got into the comic book look after I went to Comic-Con in San Diego this past summer , not to mention the exhibit at The Met , ‘Superheroes- Fashion & Fantasy’. I wrote an article on it here. For an avid synth-pop fan like myself, the keyboard is perfect! I dig the tape , too… I used to make mixed tape all the time. You could even hear myself stopping the tape on the tape. I recorded music from everywhere, my friends’ tapes, the radio, off MTV. Then the CD came and fuped it all up. But in a way, the CD was cool because you could skip to your favorite song and rewind in one button. But, then the ipod came and that was a stroke of Genius! I don’t even listen to the radio or MTV anymore- it’s like I have MY world of music without having to wait through a god awful song to get to a better one! I like that.

Yunju Lee is the designer behind these conventional stains and marks translated into jewelry. The jewelry line includes a milk mustache (attached via a nose ring), lipstick on the collar, ink splats, leaky pen, ketchup stains and an iron burn. Slovenly chic is in! That’s good news for couch potatoes everywhere. I sort of like the lipstick stain, but would look better on a guy. The leaky pen looks cool , too… but something tells me people would tell you that you have a stain all day long. Annoying! The milk mustache nose ring looks damn silly! I give Yunju Lee credit for imagination, though….

Steampunk Trunk on Etsy makes these awesome pieces of jewelry for a very reasonable price, between $40-$60. Made from old watch gears and other gears, this is the epitome of recyclable fashion in a Victorian style. A while back, I had written an article in Buzzine.com on the growing trend of Steampunk. You may view it here. Today, there are so many vendors on etsy offering the growing fashion trend. Go ahead an type in ’steampunk’ in the search box on etsy and begin your adventure back in time or shall I say to the future?

This can go with the Pig’s feet that Britney surely snacks on down south. This is a Pig’s Ear Bracelet made by Aurther Hash. I googled his ass and came up with this.
It ’s actually a really cool website! He has an etsy shop with moe wearable jewelry like this :
it’s a ring made from ping -pong paddles.
I’m sure he made that pig’s ear bracelet to bring attention to his other jewelry ’cause I’m sure the guy is a starving artist. Check out his etsy store and buy something so he doesn’t scare us with more ghastly things. I personally like the grenade pin. I have a gold grenade necklace that I adore. But I don’t wear it to the airport.

hella fug,

Australian designer, Felicity Peters has made a Brass knuckle-ish sort of ring made out of silver and gold.
It’s named “too many hats to wear”.. I call it ‘Fug on four rings’. This wouldn’t last through one back alley fight! I don’t even understand the correlation between the too may hats to wear and the colgate toothbrush, a granny on a car and the Ben Franklin candle! WTF!? Bizarre! When I say Bizarre, there are 2 kinds of Bizarre- the artsy- I -don’t- understand -it- but- it -looks- cool- bizarre and the WTF-it’s- a mess bizarre. This falls into the latter. It looks like something my son would bring home from Preschool.

Happy Halloween! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Halloween is actually the only day of the year Where I don’t get strange looks. I am going as a Geisha this year ( will post photos soon). It was a hard one between the Geisha, a random Harajuku girl or Snow White. I have a Latex General costume from House of Harlot, but I didn’t want to scare my son and other small children.
Above is a really cool necklace from La Fille du Consul that I should have worn a few years ago with my Marie Antoinette costume. Bummer. I’m sure you can wear this on Un-Halloween days , as well. I bet you could wear that as a headband for that ‘Silence of the Lambs’ look.

Christian Lacroix’s Spring 2009 fashion show featured accessories of the bony type. Is it a hommage to the anorexic look that has taken over images of fashion or is it just in time for halloween? Who knows and who cares! They’re supercool! However, I wouldn’t wear like a whole breastplate of it for fear of looking too savage! This could start a new trend of shrunken skulls… savage chic!

vinyl toys
Yeah!!!

Tarina Tarantino has designed jewelry featuring Kidrobot characters like MUNNY, Dunny and Smorkin’ Labbit. These super cute vinyl toys are laced with ribbons, Swarovski Crystals, beads and pearls creating necklaces, bracelets and earings. As a huge fan of Kidrobot and toys , this is a dream come true! Kidrobot is not for boys anymore! Although, I had made a Be@rbrick necklace a few years ago, I think I’m gonna save my pennies for one of these. I would wear any of these with a hoodie and tights and my Broken Label high tops! They say you shouldn’t coordinate your outfit around jewelry or shoes , but I say Fupe It! Now if only they could make Bearbrick jewelry…..
These retail between $65-$975 and are available at kidrobot and Tarina Tarantino boutiques.
