Sprinkling sugar as a snow-substitute on themed holiday party decorations is likely to result in a whole lot of six-legged ant-shaped gate-crashers.

Old-fashioned cookie decorating party!

Home baked cookies in fancy shapes, tubs and tubes of garish-colored frostings, sprinkles if you got ‘em. The most repulsive production wins a prize, and nobody will want to look at anything sugary again before next Easter. Could be sub-categories like goth — black frosting is impossible to achieve, but attempts are invariably gruesome when applied to gingerbread boys — or geography (maps of Mordor?), or simple excess.

We have gay marriage here in Canada, of course, but I had no idea it was legal in South Africa.That is so cool. Here’s hoping that in a few more years, you’ll have it in the States, too. If SA can come so far in such a short time, you just never know!

I’m from South Africa and very proud of how far our country has come. It’s great to see positive things written about SA for a change, and from a foreigner, none the less. Congrats on a great post, really enjoyed it
