Bows on Handbags, Yah or Nah?

A few months back I got a “Dear Bag Guru” email from a reader of my site, requesting information on the bow trend. She wanted to know if bows on bags are still in. My answer: a cautious yes. You can do a bow if it’s done in a sophisticated way, such as the styles of Valentino or Treesje. If it’s pastel and looks like something you would have worn to your junior high school prom, avoid at all costs. Look for artistic bows that are exaggerated in size or done in an interesting material. Avoid tight, dainty bows. And, if you’re still having reservations, stick with this accent for evening looks.
