Fashion’s Side dish: Boots, Bags, Baubles and more

Dear WOW Divas, Is the recession hitting you? Don’t even bother answering – I’m sure in one way or another, the economic status of our country is affecting you. Whether it’s a pay cut or an even worse job loss, issues paying your mortgage, sending your kids to school … or in my case paying those darn school loans! Oh we could just go on and on. So, during hard items we need to spend wisely and that includes our fashion picks. If you’re going to spend money you should really look for investment pieces, something that will be timeless and also something that works with what you already have in your close (and that also means the body you have).  In the world of accessories, this is also a time to, yes, look for investments BUT if you want to have some fun you do it with costume jewelry. Think about pieces that are under $50, even $20 as a fun summer purchase. Don’t make too many – just one or two to keep a gal happy. As I mentioned before, tangerine is going to be a big color so check out Target, H&M or Forever21 for fun rings or earrings. Heavy, over-the-top necklaces are another fashion statement that you can play with for $30 or so. Hey, even during hard times you have to treat yourself just a little bit! OH and PS, if you think all this thrift talk means I’m not coming to come back in a few days and tell you about fabulous exotic skin bags or divine shoes, that’s a big NO. Fantasy is still allowed and I can categorize it as research for future investment piece RFFIP.
