Let’s get this show on the road with necklaces!
For years, I didn’t actually wear necklaces. I had some bizarre theory that necklaces made my face look fat. I know. . . ridiculous! However, I will say this for my theory- it saved me money. Because ever since I recognized the error in my ways with regards to necklaces, I’ve had a hard time resisting adorning my neck with all manner of jewels. It certainly doesn’t help matters that the jewelry designers at J.Crew have been consistently producing highly covetable necklaces like this one, which has already made my Christmas list. The price, while not ridiculous, is hardly within impulse buy territory. This Forever 21 necklace, however:

Well, at $7.80, the price is just right. This would be fantastic paired with a white button down shirt for the office, or fabulous with a simple strapless dress for your holiday parties. All of the pleasure. None of the guilt.

I just bought a HUGE, bright, CRAZY necklace from Old Navy on a whim. It was on sale for less than half-price ($3.99!) and I figured, why not? Thought I’d use it to add a little zing to my usual solid-tee-shirt SAHM uniform. I almost never wear necklaces, and just started wearing them again after having two babies (babies and necklaces don’t mix.).
I didn’t know, from the online picture, that the beads were so big, so when it came in the mail I laughed out loud. The middle bead is the size of those old giant red-hot jawbreakers we used to eat as kids–the jumbo ones? But I’m wearing it today, with a basic white Gap tee, a dark denim A-line knee-length skirt, and dark-red patent driving mocs, and….I love it! My four-year-old made me swear on my life that I would NOT return it. It’s a preschooler’s dream! Here’s the link, if you’re interested!:
