Not a shorts girl? Try this ruffly skirt from the Gap
Friday, May 9th, 2008 | skirts
I have tried and tried to buy some shorts this year, because it is already hot and humid at my house and summer hasn’t even started yet. But I just can’t do it; my 40-year-old thighs will not be seeing the sunshine this summer.
However, I don’t think capri pants are going to cut it in this heat, so I’m looking at skirts instead. I need easy wearing, machine washable pieces that ideally have pockets, for all those rocks and nuts my kids hand me when we’re out and about.
The Gap’s ruffle skirt is like an answer to my prayers. It is casual and feminine and just right length and shape. Available in seven colors, including basic black, white, and brown, in sizes XS to XXL, for $39.50.
Get two! Why not? I probably will.

But is the fabric see-through in the sunshine? I certainly am not going to wear a slip on a casual summer day. I always wonder about that with lightweight cotton skirts and dresses.
Good question! The skirt is lined, and is completely NOT see-through, even in the white.
Also IT HAS POCKETS. Seriously, best skirt ever.
lovely! i am drawn to this color and yellow this year.
i also really like the cotton skirts from american apparel.
