Hotel Room Workout
This weekend I went to Vegas for two days, and to be honest, I’m a cheapskate and didn’t want to fork over $20 to use a hotel’s gym as a guest. I hate missing a workout, so I planned for my trip. From previous trips to Vegas, I already knew I’d get enough low-intensity cardio walking around for hours. I easily walked about 6 miles each day. On Friday afternoon, after a day of walking the strip, shopping and people-watching, I came back to my room and kicked my own butt for a good 25 minutes.
Equipment:
- Jumprope
- Sneakers
- Stopwatch
- Dufflebag full of stuff to equal about 10-15 pounds, or more - depends on how light you pack. Me? I just took the bare minimum so my duffle bag was probably not more than 10 pounds.
The Workout:
I performed each exercise as described, no rest between exercises, and I timed the workout. After a full cycle, I rested the same amount of time it took me to complete it.
- 15 Duffle Bag Front Squats with Overhead Press
*you can do a sumo deadlift instead of the front squat if holding the bag at the chest/shoulders is uncomfortable - 15 Duffle Bag Bent Over Rows
- 10 Push Ups with Rotation (5 each side)
- Walking Lunges across the room and back (about 24 steps)
- Plank for 30 seconds
- Jumprope for 100 jumps
- Rest, Repeat
Here are images of some of the exercises:
