I am really loving spaces that are mainly black and white with rich wood tones throughout. The decorator did a really nice job with the design of this house and I really like how they incorporated both modern and traditional elements in a nicely balanced way. For example they placed a mid century modern Wassily chair next to a traditional looking fireplace and built-in. In the bedroom they chose a vintage white iron bed with a Hollywood glamour mirrored console. How fabulous is that? They did a great job in the kitchen and I love that they painted the flooring white in there but kept it in its natural state for the rest of the house. I can really imagine myself living in a space like this because its realistic yet so well put together.

A dark gray color may not be what most people look for in a Bathroom but I couldn’t pass up showing these gorgeous dark gray bathrooms. I especially like the ones that warm it up a bit with rich wood tones. I think the dark gray keeps the bathroom clean and timeless and it’s also a really nice way to bring in a natural feel with the dark gray stone. I also think that dark gray in the bathroom can really work well if you get a lot of sunlight coming in so it doesn’t feel too dark. Hopefully these images will provide some inspiration for people considering going the gray route for their bathroom. Enjoy!

One of my favorite looks right now is black and white with rich woods. I think it is so stunning, clean, modern and chic. The black and white give the space a clean minimal look and the rich woods really help to make the space feel warmer. I love how the warm wood tones with the clean black and white give the space such a beautiful balance.
Note: I believe that this Apartment isn’t in the state Alaska, its in Alaska somewhere near London.

Nella Ventrina in Italy designs bathroom vanities that are unique and gorgeous! I don’t often come across such beautiful bathroom furniture. I really like the way they are displayed in these rooms especially the ones with the very large mirrors and top-mount sinks. I also really like the balance of traditional elements with modern style. These vanities really inspire me to add some glam to my plain wood cabinetry. I would think wallpaper might do it but I don’t how well that would hold up to the water. Any body have any suggestions?

If your looking for a really clean and timeless bathroom than neutral maybe the way you want to go. When choosing hard materials like tile and cabinetry it is often times best to go neutral because it will stay in style for a really long time and it may become easier to sell the home. Not only will it stay in style longer but adding white and off white colors can it give a bathroom a really clean and modern look.

Below are some photos from the wonderful interior inspiration site Shoot Factory. This House in particular is one of my favorites and it is located in Kempe, England. These photos show the beautiful autumn light and I am in awe of the small details throughout the home. Some of my favorite elements of this home is the hand painted shoji screen, the clean and relaxed feel of the linens and upholstery, the hand sketched framed artwork above the sofa and the cute little shoes under the mirrored armoire. Another aspect of this home that I love is that there is such a fluid and smooth transition from one room to the next. Colors, style and the feel of the rooms are consistent throughout the home. I found out about Tori and Dean’s home through the blogoshpere. I actually havent even seen the show but I heard good things and kept seeing comments about the set design of the home. I love all the color and cohesiveness of the house and whoever designed it has great style. Here are some images I found from the Oxygen website and I made little notes of my fave items from the show.

It just so happened that I found this beautiful inspiration image (#4) a little while after I found the pink lantern (#1). I couldn’t believe how similar they were. They even have the little half circles on the side. When I was collecting imagery for this mood board I wanted to create a similar feel of the inspiration image. I was going for fun girly romantic and elegant and I think the colors of pink white and black also helps to bring in that feeling.

There has been many posts about yellow interiors in the blogosphere lately so I thought hey why not do one too. Yellow usually reminds us of sunshine and brings a sense of warmth to a room. It can remind us of being at the beach so I think it works perfectly well for a wet location such as the bathroom. When designing yellow in a bathroom I think it should be your main and possibly your only color. It works beautifully with white toilets, tubs and sinks and I would definetly go with stainless or chrome fixtures and not gold. If you are thinking about using yellow in your bathroom consider how much yellow you want to use. These interiors show the many ways of implementing yellow into your bathroom whether you want to tile all four walls or just add yellow decorative towels. Enjoy!

I was shopping for new Interior Design Magazines and I wasn’t to thrilled on alot of the American issues but when I came across this french magazine Cote Sud I was ecstatic. This article on a french artists home caught my eye and it is the reason I bought it along with many other fabulous finds. I love how there is spats of vibrant color throughout like on the dining chairs and large canvases. It is almost as if her home is a clean white canvas and so when adding furniture she can go with traditional Louis chairs and crystal chandeliers plus modern Bertoia wireframed chairs and Saarinen tables. Love Love Love this space!

Below is the inspiration image from Judy Casey. This image is inspiring because I saw many things that I could use for an interior. For instance the women’s beautiful dress inspired me to choose a vintage pink shower curtain and the wrought iron gate inspired me to choose a wrought iron scrolled mirror. I also decided to use an Acanthus crown molding because of the Corinthian style columns in the image. I decided to replicate the tile floor and the tiny blue tile in the pool for inside the shower/tub and base trim. The rug is inspired by the column texture and the faucet is also inspired by the gate. I think this design can work for a girl at any age because although its pink it still has a mature look to it.
