So they say all artists have their own “style”….and I’ve thought long and hard on this one and realized over the years that no matter what, I don’t EVER do a “makeup” without highlighting the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes….EVER. We ALL need a little help sometimes when we miss our beauty sleep,no?

That being said, I am constantly on the lookout for new highlighting products and just happens that my favorite Beverly Hill’s Brow Guru just came out with a new one…. Anastasia’s Brow Duality ($23). This double ended pencil contains an amazingly blend-able, creamy formula….one side matte and one side shimmer. Duality comes in two sticks….Duality 1 in Matte Camille/ Shimmer Sand, a pink-based tone good for the pale girls and Duality 2 in Matte Shell/ Shimmer Lace..more golden and for darker complexions.

So needless to say these amazing sticks do the job of highlighting extremely well, but upon experimentation I found 2 additional uses…..1. The matte side of these pens work very well as an eyeshadow base…it really helped my shadows go on smooth and wear longer.  2. (This is the one I’m really excited about) the Matte Shell of Duality 2 COMPLETELY hide my under eye circles!!!….the peach undertones of this shade completely counteracts the blue in my circles so they go Bye,Bye!!!!…literally just draw it over the circles and blend slightly…the texture of the pencil is so creamy there is absolutely no caking or flakiness at all!!!!

Tip: When concealing under eye circles make sure the pick the right toned concealor!  Use peachy-orangy colors for bluish circles and pink-rose based shades for greenish circles….otherwise you run the risk of making your circles look worse (and GREY)…..Been there, done that!!!

Hello my beauties!!! I had a photo shoot last week with a model that had particularly UN-cooperative eyebrows….you know, the kind that grow DIRECTLY downwards? Ugh!!!! Brow gel and hairspray just didn’t cut the mustard and I found myself fixating on her brows the entire shoot….talk about annoying ( luckily she was a doll and perfect in every other way…lol)!!!

Well, as I was perusing Sally Beauty’s latest mineral makeup line named Femme Couture I came upon this….Femme Couture Brow Couture Grooming Wax ($<7). It looks awesome….wax is heavy enough to weigh down the crazy brow hairs that gels and sprays can’t….plus it adds bulk if your brows could use extra volume (first use the wax and then add shadow w/ an angle brush for a natural look)…. And since this wax is clear it looks as if you could just literally slick those puppies into place………..

We’ll see…..looks like I’ll be picking one up next visit. I’ll let you know how it works out!

Hello my beauties! I’ve been meaning to tell you about my favorite local brow guru ever since I started writing The Daily Beauty Break! Zaibee’s is my go-to place for body waxing (I had my first bikini wax EVER there…why did I wait so long?), all kinds of skin services and MY favorite facial hair removal method, THREADING…they are on Allure’s list of salons to visit in Dallas and Zaibee does all the celebrities when they are in town….

Super cool, threading is an ancient technique that pulls out the hair from the root without touching the skin (I don’t know how these magicians manage it…it takes years of training to master)….perfect for moi, because with my Retin-A use and inflammatory acne my skin needs NO help in the redness and irritation department!

My momma DEFINITELY didn’t tell me that at 30+ I would A. still have acne to treat and B. Grow a moustache (and what’s up with those random BLACK hairs I keep finding along my jawline????) Well thank goodness I found Zaibee…because the moustache is no longer…and for the first time in my life my “Brooke Shields” brows manage to look elegant and polished while maintaining thier fullness ( it’s SO hard to find someone that can shape good THICK brows, in my opinion).

Zaibee’s is super affordable….you buy a “Preferred Card” once a year ( I want to say it was around $30) my brows are $8 and my upperlip is only $6…and the REALLY nice thing about it? Since they pull from the root my threading usually lasts 3 weeks!!!! What I really love is that I NEVER make an appt…they LOVE walk-ins…and I have never waited more than a few minutes (except maybe on a Saturday…if you go on a Saturday, best to make an appointment).

So go visit Zaibee if you are a local girl…..they have two locations, one in Richardson (where I go) and one in Plano….and be sure to tell them I said Hello!

Hello beautiful people!!! Every professional makeup artist knows that a beautiful face starts with clean, polished eye brows. Brow shape and color can change your entire face…..and there is nothing more aging or dated as super-thin brows…and unfortunately, for some of us either from years of over-tweasing or just age in general, we start to lose some of our former glory.

Brows are always part of my personal 5 minute face…a nicely groomed and lush brow with a bit of bronzer, blush and mascara and I am good to go!

My latest beauty-to-go find is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pen ($21). Anastasia is THE brow guru of Hollywood….the women has had her paws on nearly every celebrity you could ever imagine!! So no suprise, her brow products top my list when it comes to face-framing beauty. The Brow Pen’s super-fine felt tip makes for super easy application….Just draw and go girl……It’s a very universal shade…a neutral light brown…perfect for everyone except maybe SUPER fair girls…It goes on very light and dries in a second, so I found it really easy to build the color up to where I needed it. The precise tip allows for super precise application…really nice if you have thinner brows that are harder to draw in. I especially liked that once it was on it DIDN’T budge…and in this Texas heat it’s all about staying power….super quick, super easy beauty baby!
