Keeping Tabs

What the tabloids are reporting this week…

The late Heath Ledger garnered a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in his haunting turn as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Unfortunately, this achievement is overshadowed by drama over who will accept the award if he wins. According to the NY Daily News, Heath’s father would like the honor while the studio would like Michele Williams to receive it on behalf of their 3-year-old daughter, Matilda. Wouldn’t it just be more logical for the director or even Christian Bale to accept it?

If Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer didn’t get back together in time for her film premiere, we would have seen her with another dashing gentleman. The New York Post’s Page Six is reporting that while the couple was off, Jen’s people were recruiting men to accompany her so she wouldn’t have to appear single while promoting her Marley & Me - which happens to coincide with the opening date of Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

It turns out Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were kinda wasted when they eloped a few weeks ago. Watch tonight’s episode of The Hills to witness their vows. Check out an exclusive video at UsWeekly, but be forewarned about the “ick” factor.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reached a divorce settlement. Her rep confirms that Madge will pay her ex-husband a hefty sum between $76 million and $96 million, which includes the value of a English country home and their London pub. Yowza. They are still negotiating custodial arrangements for their children.

Weekend Leftovers…yum!

It was a busy, busy weekend for Hollywood’s A-listers, so here is recap of all the juicy gossip.

Paul Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live this week with an amazing performance from Beyonce. She also did a skit with a surprise appearance from her friend Justin Timberlake, who, let’s just say, kinda needs a tan (and stole the show).

How hilarious! Jennifer Aniston and Natalie Portman were on hand at the after party to celebrate with Paul and Justin.

TRL bid a bittersweet farewell to its 10-year run with a star-studded finale last night. Carson Daly played host to a bevy of performances from Beyonce, Kid Rock, Nelly, Snoop Dog, Backstreet Boys, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, among others. Plenty of big music names also stopped by reminisce of the show that, for many, launched their careers - Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Good Charlotte, EminemHilary Duff wonder if she ran into Joel Madden? And it wouldn’t be TRL if there wasn’t a countdown involved. “…Baby One More Time” topped the Most Influential Videos, though Britney did not join the festivities.

Meanwhile, Miami was hot, hot, hot this weekend as the Angels descended upon the city. Fontainbleau celebrated its reopening with Kate HudsonParis HiltonMariah CareyHeidi Klum and Diddy. Gwyneth Paltrow mingled with Alex Rodriguez, who is reportedly dating Gwyn’s good pal Madonna

Saturday night the Angels hit the runway for the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show as Usher performed. Amanda Bynes, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Kardashian, Robert Buckley, John Stamos, and Terrence Howard were among the many celebs in the audience. The show will broadcast Dec. 3 on CBS.

OMG

Paula | Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Madonna | Wednesday, 05 November 2008

Back in April, I played a tiny joke on you by saying that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake reunited years after their picture perfect popstar romance shattered. But now, I am pleased to tell you that I have a gift for looking into the future.

Ryan Seacreast exclusively revealed on his radio show today that the two singers and former flames have been brought together by - who else - Madonna. Yes, you read correctly!

Brit and JT will be performing onstage with the Material Girl herself this Thursday when she is in L.A. for her Sticky & Sweet tour. We don’t know much else yet or if they will even appear together, but Ryan says, “Expect some real serious surprises.” Madonna has been trying to orchestrate a reunion between her two friends for a while now, and this is just another stop on the Spears comeback train, choo-choo.

Will it top the Britney-Madonna-Christina Aguilera collaboration from the 2003 VMAs?

No Guy in Madonna’s Life

Paula | Madonna | Wednesday, 15 October 2008

Another day, another divorce.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after over seven years of marriage and months of split-up speculation. Reps for both have confirmed and said that no settlement has been agreed upon yet.

As usual, British papers The Sun and The Daily Mail broke the news yesterday, claiming that a statement would be released shortly and that the ex-power couple want something finalized by Christmas. Hmm, do they have New Year’s Eve dates lined up already?

The papers also report that the duo never signed a prenup, which means Guy can walk away with a cool $100 million of his ex-wife’s estimated $500 mil fortune. Madonna will put up a fight though; rumors are that she’s enlisted the services of Paul McCartney’s divorce lawyer.

This announcement comes after reports that the Material Girl played a role in the break-up of Yankee Alex Rodriguez’s marriage. Whether or not the two had an affair remains unknown, but the writing’s on the wall. Madonna is currently on her “Sweet and Sticky” tour, while Guy is shooting his upcoming flick Sherlock Holmes.
