Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have made it official: the publicity-loving couple eloped last Thursday. Just when you think they weren’t capable of doing anything away from the staged paparazzi and cameras.

The Hills stars told their friends that they were heading south of the border to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a “romantic getaway,” but did not allude to a wedding though there was speculation.

An (pre-planned?) UsWeekly cover today confirms the early reports, so it’s really not that much of a surprise wedding - gee, they waited four days to tell the press. And they chose the top selling tabloid, suspicious, no?

Speidi have been engaged since 2007, though Heidi temporarily broke it off last December.

Yesterday, the American Music Awards celebrated a year of great music with star-studded performances and medleys from Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Annie Lennox, Kanye West, Leona Lewis, Pink, Sarah McLachlan, and many more.

Miley Cyrus celebrated her sweet 16 backstage with celeb pals - wait, didn’t the deep-voiced starlet have a ginormous birthday party, like, a month ago?

Justin Timberlake was the much-hyped “surprise” cameo, which was rumored to be his ex Britney Spears - don’t get me wrong; I love JT, but he’s hardly a surprise after his plethora of recent appearances.

It was a busy, busy weekend for Hollywood’s A-listers, so here is recap of all the juicy gossip.

Paul Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live this week with an amazing performance from Beyonce. She also did a skit with a surprise appearance from her friend Justin Timberlake, who, let’s just say, kinda needs a tan (and stole the show).

How hilarious! Jennifer Aniston and Natalie Portman were on hand at the after party to celebrate with Paul and Justin.

TRL bid a bittersweet farewell to its 10-year run with a star-studded finale last night. Carson Daly played host to a bevy of performances from Beyonce, Kid Rock, Nelly, Snoop Dog, Backstreet Boys, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, among others. Plenty of big music names also stopped by reminisce of the show that, for many, launched their careers - Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Good Charlotte, Eminem, Hilary Duff… wonder if she ran into Joel Madden? And it wouldn’t be TRL if there wasn’t a countdown involved. “…Baby One More Time” topped the Most Influential Videos, though Britney did not join the festivities. 

Meanwhile, Miami was hot, hot, hot this weekend as the Angels descended upon the city. Fontainbleau celebrated its reopening with Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey, Heidi Klum and Diddy. Gwyneth Paltrow mingled with Alex Rodriguez, who is reportedly dating Gwyn’s good pal Madonna. 

Saturday night the Angels hit the runway for the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show as Usher performed. Amanda Bynes, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Kardashian, Robert Buckley, John Stamos, and Terrence Howard were among the many celebs in the audience. The show will broadcast Dec. 3 on CBS.

Kanye West is grumpy again and his love ain’t the only thing in lockdown.

 The rapper was arrested in England this morning on suspicion of assault on a paparazzi. Police confirm he has already been released without charge. If you recall, this is the second time this has happened to Kanye.

This incident follows an interview that the superstar did on Wednesday, proclaiming himself the “voice of this generation.” Um, hello? Who bestows that honor upon themselves?

”I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” he said to the Associated Press.  ”It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”

Kanye shamelessly continues to say that Justin Timberlake could have held that title, but has not released enough material to be worthy of it.

‘There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums,” he said. ”And it just came out to be that.”

My, my…so humble you are! And his ranting doesn’t end here…remember when Kanye was mad he didn’t win an MTV Video Music Award last year? 

Well, he won an European VMA last week and still isn’t happy. Kanye claims the awards were “fixed.” 

“I won nothing last year and I’d brought out ‘Stronger,’” he complains. “Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This was L’il Wayne’s year.”

Back in April, I played a tiny joke on you by saying that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake reunited years after their picture perfect popstar romance shattered. But now, I am pleased to tell you that I have a gift for looking into the future.

Ryan Seacreast exclusively revealed on his radio show today that the two singers and former flames have been brought together by - who else - Madonna. Yes, you read correctly!

Brit and JT will be performing onstage with the Material Girl herself this Thursday when she is in L.A. for her Sticky & Sweet tour. We don’t know much else yet or if they will even appear together, but Ryan says, “Expect some real serious surprises.” Madonna has been trying to orchestrate a reunion between her two friends for a while now, and this is just another stop on the Spears comeback train, choo-choo.

Will it top the Britney-Madonna-Christina Aguilera collaboration from the 2003 VMAs?

Rewind back to Saturday for the season premiere of SNL with host Michael Phelps. And it’s official: the Olympian shouldn’t quit his day job. Tina Fey stole the show with her perfect Palin skit. And shout-out to Amy Poehler for portraying Hillary Clinton spot on!

MTV staple TRL is ending its 10 year run in November. I’m sorry it’s over, but it makes sense. Who watched after like 2002 anyways? The network says they are trying to recruit countdown favorites like Britney, The Backstreet Boys, Justin and N’SYNC, Eminem, and others for the finale celebration.  

Speaking of the Britster (sorry, I can’t help it), the mom threw her boys a joint birthday party this weekend with an A-list guest list. According to E! News, Sean Preston and Jayden’s newborn cousin Maddie made an appearance along with Gwen Stefani and Kingston, and Jenny McCarthy with son Evan. 

It must have been a weekend of celeb baby birthdays. After Gwen and Kingston partied with Brit’s offspring, they headed over to Heidi Klum’s bash for son Henry. Victoria Beckham and Debra Messing also brought their little ones to the costumed affair.

Brad and Angelina donated $2 million from their Jolie-Pitt Foundation to the Global Health Committee for the establishment of a center to aid diseased children in Ethiopia. The center will be named after Zahara, who was adopted from the African country over two years ago.  It’s probably acts like this that inspired Guinness World Records to name them Most Powerful Actor and Actress this year. No surprise there.

It’s getting hot in here and it’s not just the summer solstice I’m talking about. 

People magazine has just released its Hottest Bachelors of 2008 issue. The compilation was a rather surprising and interesting one. A bevy of actors, musicians, athletes, and celebrity siblings (?!) made the cut, while dimpled cutie and newly single Mario Lopez took the top honor. 

Sure, there were mainstream hotties like George Clooney, Justin Timberlake (though not for long, we hear), and the boys of Gossip Girl. And dark mysterious men like Terrence Howard and Adam Levine are totally welcomed in the round-up.

But what about perma-clubgoers Brody Jenner and wingman Frankie Delgado of The Hills? As if these boys need another reason to playboy it up at LA hotspots. And Bryan Spears?! At least someone in the Spears family has it together.

To be honest, I want to hate Ryan Phillippe, but I don’t. I don’t even dislike him. See, he finally made a public appearance with the woman that was rumored to have broken up his seven year marriage to America’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon. Ryan supported Stop-Loss costar Abbie Cornish as she was honored with an award at the Australian in Film Breakthrough Awards. The private couple held hands and leaned against each other throughout the entire night. Even though it was often reported that Ryan’s jealousy of Reese’s successful career led to problems in their marriage, he stepped aside and let Abbie enjoy the spotlight.

• Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo squash break-up rumors by sharing a romantic lunch together in Dallas (Just Jared).
• The Hills star Whitney Port is apparently being given a spin-off series by MTV in which she is bicoastal and befriending a group of NYC socialites. She denies the report but says she is open to the possibility.
• Rumors that High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has contracted HIV from her rhinoplasty surgery last year was denied by her rep. Scary!
• Justin Timberlake has asked girlfriend Jessica Biel to move in with him, signaling that their relationship is quite serious (he didn’t live with Cameron or oh gosh, Britney). Love shack, baby.
• The blogs are rampantly discussing if Paris Hilton is preggers after a pic of her with a seemingly visible bump surfaced. I say it’s just her clingy satin dress though the heiress has expressed her wishes to be with child by next year.
